The fundamental component to PriceValidation is that throughout the process, ValueLink acts
as a Service Facilitator. We take raw data from our clients’ chosen data vendors and subject
it to ValueLink’s rigorous validation processes.
All security types across global markets are covered. The raw pricing data is sourced from the client’s
chosen mainstream data vendors such as Interactive Data, Thomson Reuters or Telekurs.
Additionally, ValueLink will supplement the data from these mainstream data vendors with content
supplied by specialist or boutique data providers and an independent validation source. ValueLink
then validate this raw data within strict client agreed deadlines for intra-day and closing timeslots.
Our Pricing Department complete a wide array of checks. These include:
- Pre valuation point equities & indices checks - automatically compares and alerts of data differences between vendors data
- Management valuation point check - automatically records completion or alerts to outstanding processes at each valuation point
- Vendor price check - automatically compares exchange data uploaded from data vendors
- Movement check - all prices are validated against set movement tolerances. Using the multiple data sources available, any erroneous data are corrected to ensure that clients receive accurate data
- Inter vendor check - prices are validated against multiple data sources. Any tolerance breach is validated to ensure that clients receive accurate data
- Excess check - all security types have an excess tolerance (extreme price movements) and these are subject to additional validation processes and managerial sign-off
- Stale prices - data is scrutinised for appropriate updates
The dedicated client administrator within the Client Administration Department carries out additional client specific checks, for example:
- Additional movement check - an additional review report is generated charting the movement of each price against the previous price supplied on your file. Depending on the movement and the Validation Status, further checks are completed to verify the price
- Day count check - If a price remains stale for a pre determined period, as agreed with the client, additional sources are reviewed to ascertain alternative sources or genuine stale prices
- Client specific checks - additional data content as agreed with the client will be reviewed
- For full Valuation data services clients, the Client Administrator produces the NAV and any ancillary management reports
All processes are subject to audio and visual alerting that notifies all ValueLink personnel of any process that has not been started or completed at a pre-defined point.
